How to Engage and Charm Your Audience, runs Feb. 25 in Toronto. While this intensive workshop can help anyone who wants to improve their presentation, it's tailored to writers who have to read their work before a live audience.

More than a Writing Contest

Deadline extended to Jan 12, 2012. Maximum word count is 2,500. Any piece of unpublished fiction is eligible. Entry fee is $25. Every story entered will get a critique. !st prize is $250, second is $100, third is $50. Send your entry to writingcontest@writeware.ca  When you enter you will receive a confirmation that it was received and a separate Paypal request for payment. (Paypal also accepts credit card payments & you don't have to have a Paypal account to use it.)

Critiquing: You have produced that masterpiece and now you need a knowledgeable, experienced writer/editor to look it over and give an honest evaluation of your work. Our manuscript critiquing service can help. It will uncover your story's weaknesses and strengths, evaluating it in six main areas; plot, setting, character, voice, writing style, and technical ability. You can also ask up to two specific questions about your piece when you send it in.

For efficient turn around, we provide this service through the internet. Cost is $5 per page with a minimum charge of $15. We will review up to 20 pages first time around. (Submissions will be accepted only if they are double spaced, 12 pt type, on an 8.5x11 format.)  All fiction genres are accepted as are non-fiction general interest articles.
